Mary Ann Lee

Personal Trainer

With over 25 years of experience, I work with regular people who want to feel better and have the energy and strength to live a quality of life that allows for fun and time well spent with loved ones. My clients' acheivements range from full recoveries from hip replacement surgery to navigating menopause through exercise and manual therapy. Many look to increase general strength from past injuries or to just transition from a sedentary lifestyle.

Personal training is not just about getting a sweat on and grinding yourself into the ground. It's about understanding each individual's idiosyncrasies and accommodating each person's needs.

I believe physical activity and moving well is paramount to living well. As a result I have gone on to study osteopathy to combine my strength training skills with better in-depth knowledge of the body in general (physiology, neurology, endocrinology, immunology) as all these factors are balanced and enhanced by appropriate activity.

Training Philosophy:

Health is a balance of not just working out but of rest and recovery. Throw in reasonable nutrition, appropriate stress management and now you have a working plan that can take you far. You are a full participant in your own health journey, I provide great assistance but it’s up to you to do your homework.

Qualifications:
  • Diploma of Osteopathy Candidate
  • RTSm
  • MATm
  • FLMP (Fitness and Lifestyle Management Diploma)
  • Bachelor of Science, Applied Human Nutrition

Life

My most proud training or athletic accomplishment is...

A number of years back at the behest of a friend I went on a recreational cycling trip, Austria to Prague. I am NOT a cyclist and this was not my idea of a good time. I hadn't ridden a bike for 20 years so I was not expecting this to go well. Turns out working with weights to maintain general strength over the years allowed me to keep up and genuinely have a great time.

Client Testimonials

"As a 66 year old woman who experienced a car accident, I was facing numerous challenges with walking, climbing stairs, and even getting up from the floor. Despite my weekly physiotherapy sessions, I felt the need for additional assistance. Remembering my past work with Mary Ann, I decided to reach out to her for help. Mary Ann, understanding my goal of regaining my pre-accident condition, developed a comprehensive plan for me. This plan incorporated osteopathic treatment, muscle activation technique (MAT), and resistance training. Thanks to Mary Ann's expertise and dedication, I no longer require physiotherapy. I can now walk and climb stairs without experiencing any pain, and I no longer view picking things up from the floor as a daunting task. Life has truly improved for me! Mary Ann not only aided in my recovery, she also designed a plan that I can continue using to achieve my health goals now and in the future. Mary Ann is incredibly knowledgeable , focused, understanding, and an absolute delight to work with. I wholeheartedly recommend her services." - Kate Scott (former member)
