BLAIR LARSEN

Personal Trainer, MAT Specialist, & Ironman Coach

I grew up on Canada’s east coast and was always involved in team sports ranging from baseball, volleyball, basketball, and rowing at provincial and varsity level. The complexity and capability of the human machine has always been a fascination which motivated my collegiate studies. My work with both rehab and performance-based clients in the Exercise Physiology Lab on campus cultivated the desire to make this my profession. I experienced the power one person can have in helping another improve their life through physical activity and focused training.

My own focus on training shifted to individual pursuits such as triathlon and adventure racing, as I wanted to see how far my own body could be pushed. I’ve now completed several half and full ironman events, and aspire to complete many more.

Today, I consider myself as a professional trainer who adapts to be what my clients need on any given day. For them, I am their coach, motivator, educator, mechanic, and, yes, sometimes even a drill sergeant. Every person has different needs and responds in their own and unique way. It’s my role to help them figure that out and make the most of it.
