Growing up, I was always struggling with weight issues as I was a bigger girl. I started off with running and lots of cardio base training to help with weight loss and still wasn't satisfied with how I looked. It was weight training that helped me recognize the importance of working with heavy weight with proper form. I was able to see my body in a strong and healthy state, as well as getting the satisfaction mentally from hitting weights I never thought I could.
6 years later, I have now competed in Olympic weightlifting and Powerlifting, both sport that focus on strength and power. These experiences enabled me to share my knowledge with many people whether their goal in a safe and effective way. Also, it is very rewarding to see people push through their mental barriers with exercises they didn't think they can do or get back to the lifestyle that they wanted.
