Sports was not my thing growing up. I was picked last and found any way I could to avoid Phys Ed classes. I did, however, love to swim. I swam competitively until pain in my back and knees reduced the amount I could train. So, I cut back on my own swimming and, at 14, began to teach, starting with club level swimmers, then learn to swim programs ranging in age from babies to adults. This started my lifelong love of teaching.
I wanted to expand my fitness knowledge with the aim to help more people like myself discover a love for fitness and exercise, pain free. The gym became my new home, with knowledgeable teachers that helped to manage my back and knee pain, and taught me the amazingness of the human body, and how to appropriately challenge it to adapt.
20 years later, and I have not looked back. I have worked and studied in England, Bermuda, and Canada, finding my passion: helping people live and workout pain free and pushing them to new limits, all while respecting that every body is unique and will respond to challenges differently but, that finding the correct challenge can be life changing.
