Dear Adelaide Club Member:
I hope you enjoy this month’s E-Bulletin, on line at www.adelaideclub.com. We have many exciting programs and events happening in the next few months as the Adelaide Club finishes the Winter season in full swing.
Thank you to everyone that made it out to Rumble at the Adelaide Club 2 on January 20th, 2012 .  The night was a big success, with 500+ in attendance to watch a night of entertaining boxing.  There were 11 fights in all.  The fighters were made up of Cambridge Group of Clubs’ Staff and Members with the exception of a few fighters coming from outside clubs.  The competitors were split into two teams, red corner and blue corner.  Each fighter trained with their team once a week since October 1st , 2011.

The boxing event footage will be released February 3rd, 2012 and can be seen on the Adelaide Club Facebook page, otherwise I will include a link in the February 6th, 2012 weekly enews.   

The 3rd Annual Adelaide's Got Talent is fast approaching and we are looking for TALENT!!!!  The night of the event is on Friday March 2nd, 2012 - Starting at 6pm. This has been a very successful, fun and entertaining event that has showcased some really great undiscovered talent and we are taking it to the next level this year!!!!

We are looking for singers, opera singers, Hip Hop artists, guitar players, piano players etc....
There are 17 slots to fill, however they get booked very quickly!  Therefore, if you are interested in showcasing your talent, please email Ryan Lundrigan at ryan@adelaideclub.com.   Please include your full name, your group name and what you will be performing as your talent. 

We have also decided to work with and support an organization called The Remix Project.  They are an organization that services youth who are trying to enter into the creative industries.  The Remix Project provides top-notch alternative, creative, educational programs to help level the playing field for young people from disadvantaged, marginalized and under served communities.  Some of the students enrolled in The Remix Project will also be performing that night as well as some surprise guests. This night promises to be the best yet!!!!  Sign up quickly if you would like to participate this year!!!!

Thank you to everyone for their patience while we do numerous upgrades around your club.  We have some very exciting changes to the club that includes a new group exercise studio with more classes being added to the schedule, refurbishing of the original studio with an emphasis on improving the functionality of the room, new equipment in the variable resistance room with the addition of a new floor, upgraded decor in the lounge and many improvements to the squash program.

I would like to invite you all out to see the World’s best squash players at Ludwig Financial Recruitment Cambridge Cup February 28-March 1 in Toronto. Five of the world’s top-10 players and Canadian number-one Shahier Razik are among the entries for the $60,000 Ludwig Financial Recruitment Cambridge Cup men’s professional squash tournament set for seven venues in Toronto February 28 to March 1.

The eight players in the tournament are Gregory Gaultier of France;  Ramy Ashour, Amr Shabana and Karim Darwish, all of Egypt, and ranked third through sixth in the world; Laurens Jan Anjema of the Netherlands, Thierry Lincou of France, Hisham Ashour of Egypt and Razik.

Shabana is a four-time world champion, Ashour took the world crown in 2009 and Lincou was tops in 2004.
"This is our third consecutive year, it's growing each year with more clubs looking to host matches and fans contacting us in advance for dates/tickets/etc,’’ said Razik, also the tournament director.

The venues hosting the event are the mian host Cambridge Group of Clubs (Toronto Athletic Club, the Adelaide Club, the Cambridge Club) as well as the Toronto Lawn and Tennis Club, the Georgetown Racquet Club, the Barrie Athletic Club, and the Cricket Club.In total,12 matches will be played across the host venues.
